Day Trip with my Daughter

Between Covid 19 and moving from Texas to Maryland, I really haven't seen much of the world this year and that is hard on this travel-loving girl.  Here I am living an hour away from Baltimore and Washington, DC and we are stuck in an unending state of quarantine.  I needed to break out so I asked my daughter if she'd take an early morning trip to Annapolis with me. "How early?" she wanted to know. She is not normally a photographer and, with two young children, unaccustomed to our "pre-dawn" starts.  "As early as you can," I tried and she and the kids showed up slightly after 7 am.  Popsie stayed with the kids who grumbled that they just wanted to go back to sleep, but Nova was game for a new adventure and we happily drove 35 minute southeast to the beautiful city of Annapolis.  Court house showed some signs of life. Always Something to Learn

I went on a Spring  Camping Extravaganza  hosted by Precision Camera and Mandy Lea Photo last weekend in Garner State Park. Despite the overcast weather, disappointing sunset and rained out sunrise, I came away with a few worthwhile images and good vibes from a fun photographic get together. My friend, Tricia, made her maiden voyage in her new-to-her Tab Camper, Towanda. I always enjoy an adventure with Tricia.   It was fun meeting the other photographers at a delicious pot luck dinner.  Saturday morning was overcast but we all had a good time seeking out worthwhile photos utilizing the reflections in the water and the fun trunks of the Cyprus Trees.   It was nice and serene in this beautiful spot and I was grateful for the time Mandy spent with me.  She helped me figure out a peculiar setting on my camera and explained why auto bracketing is preferable to manual bracketing. Day 4 - On the Train heading for Zermatt

We knew this was going to be several hours on a train, but it was the Glacier Express and we had first class tickets.  We were seated opposite another couple and it gave us the opportunity to get to know John and Laura a bit better.  He was the photographer but she was a wealth of all kinds of knowledge.  Poppy fields zoomed by, gorgeous to see, but difficult to capture. Beautiful scenery as we raced by the Swiss countryside Service on the train was great.  We were served a delicious lunch of chicken curry which was very yummy and came on nice china with bread and rice and dessert.  At long last we arrived in the adorable town of Zermatt. We immediately bought ourselves tickets to go up to the Matterhorn the following two days and then took a cute little electric van up to our hotel where Andrew and I had the following view.
